Blessings or coincidences?

The bible states blessings that will come from God. At the time we are in need of a blessing, or a miracle, is it really? For ex: You lost your job, and have no income, and bills are piling high, and you have no other sources. 24 hours before your electric bill is due, you get a call from a program you applied for just 4 weeks prior, but according to the respondant applications take 3-4 months for approval, but it has been approved and a check was mailed the same day. Blessing? If so, why?

The bible in james explains quite well that we are to give thanks for our trials as well. These allow us strength and recognition of the true blessings. I think it is a blessing because you were given the method of keeping going until you have some alternative.
