Wonderful Surprise

Wow, I had a wonderful surprise today, something that I had not been expecting and it really blew me away. My sister who I had not seen for quite some time as she was very sick, just turned up at my home today and was well and happy, the happiest I have seen her for many years, she suffers from Bi Polar and had been in and out of hospitals for a long time and had said and done some not so nice things to the family who had always tried to be very supportive of her but she had decided she wanted nothing to do with any of us. She has got herself off most of the medication now and the specialists want her to write up about how she got herself well, and has been now for about 8mths. Has anybody had a similar experience?

I have bipolar myself, and am so happy that your sister has made this change for the better. As a bipolar I know it's impossible for people to understand what we go through. However, I also see that my family and friends do the very best they possibly can. They WANT to do everything to help. I am fortunate to have not been hospitalized. I did want to mention one thing: as a bipolar I know we can say things we don't mean, sometimes things we don't even remember. I hope you truly know your sister loves you, no matter what she says in the future. God bless!

Thankyou for your comment. She has had to put up with a lot in her life, she gave up a son for adoption at 16 and I knew nothing about it, because if I had I would have had her bring him home to me as I had 3 small children at the time and another would not have been a problem, she has now had him get in touch which is really cool, but he also suffers from bi-polar and a heart problem. She has had many many more things go wrong in her life and that is sad. She is a very talented artist and I think that keeps her going in the really rough times. She has now renewed her faith and is finding things are going really good for her, the family and I pray that she continues that way. Sorry to hear you are going through the same problem, I hope and pray all goes well for you too.
