Bank of America Dilemma

You know those ATM machines that are in a deserted area outside of an outlet? Well I deposited a check in there, stupid me on Friday evening. It's Monday morning and apparently this check hasn't gone through. Has anyone been through this? I'm calling customer service on my lunch break but I just wanted to know if any of you ever been through this and how long it takes for checks deposited into these lonely machines to go through.

Sometimes they only pick up the deposits from the ATM's once a day and not on the weekends. So, maybe they are picking it up today. I have BOA and I get frustrated with them sometimes because they do seem slow with deposits sometimes. I would expect it to go through tonight, unless they don't pick it up until after 2, then it will be tomorrow night. I rarely make deposits in ATM's because it seems to take forever! Good luck and I hope it works out for you. If you are really nice, sometimes the operator will waive your overdraft fees if you have any.

Thank you, fallie. I agree with you on how long it takes to make deposits. I only signed up with BOA because of the convenience of having numerous bank locations. If what you say is accurate I'll wait on the customer service call and wait for it to go through 'til tomorrow.
I make sure I don't put anything on the debit card when stuff like this happens. I have some money in it still but it'd be nice if it went through sooner! Arrghh...

I have deposited many in the ATM machine. I think it depends on the workers, if you deposited it late Friday evening then it's probably going to be picked up until Monday then by the time they process it and then it needs to clear, maybe Wednesday or Thursday. Don't worry though, it is safe once it goes into the machine.

Thanks..I've been looking up reviews on the Bank of America and many of them are pretty scary. Some people are still waiting for their checks to go through and god forbid you put cash in those envelopes.
I did call customer service to verify everything and the rep told me to wait until tomorrow morning until 6 AM b/c that's when the 2nd business day is fully complete and the transaction is fully processed. I'll be here tomorrow morning to be posting the update.

I live part time in a part of Arizona whose Bank Of America machine recently got struck by ligntning. We got one of those new machines that does not require envelopes, and that takee pictures of the checks. I put a check in there recently and it worked great, however it won't accept a Canadian money order in American dollars. I had to go into town to the bank branch to do that.
