My mother is dating my landlord. I am having some problems with him fixing stuff around here. When they are on good terms, he will but when they are not I can't get him to fix nothing!!! I decided to vacate and I have given him proper notice. But when I came home from a vacation on OK, all of my things were GONE!! I filed a police report and one of the neighbors say they saw a truck hauling away my things. I called the landlord and asked him what was the deal. He calims he has no knowledge, but no one I would be out of town but my mom. He stated that he hired someone to move my belongings to my mom's house so that he could the property back on the market to rent, because he had someone interesting in renting. But my things never made it to my mom's home. I had just bought brand new beds for my kids, furniture, and things for my unborn son, and everything is just GONE! I felt he got upset because I decided to move and had my things taken out of spite, but I can't prove it. And if that isn't enough, my mom still dates him! Several months later It was said that my things were sold to a drug dealer. But mother figures that since he didnot actually remove the items he is not responsible. What do you think? It would be hard to move, so taking it court would mean providing some hard evidence.

i would go to the police and if you have any means to show you brought the stuff thats missing, take it with you. thats wrong of him to do that, regardless of his relationship with your mom.

OMG...I'd so kick someone's booty! That is...if you can prove he wasn't fixing things, he is in breech of the landlord tenent act. He has to fix things...especially if they are in danger to your life. When you gave him proper notice, did you write him a letter? Do you have proof of the time and date? What he says is in conflict. "He claims he has no knowledge...he stated that he hred someone to move my belongings to my mom's house". He's lying somewhere. You can take that no good for nothing man to court for what he did. I can see it now on Judge Judy. About the only hard evidence would be to get him to admit to while recording that yes, he did have your stuff removed or a written notice. Good luck!
