Ladies only....do you prefer water proof mascara or washable?

Since I was 13 or 14 & started wearing makeup, I have used Maybelline washable mascara. I've tried others, but I don't like to use makeup remover on my eyes to get it off. I bought a new one and used it for the first time today, the stuff was terrible. It clumped up so bad and didn't do much for my lashes. Maybe they have changed their formula, I don't know. I was wondering though, what other women prefer to use.

I have always used Maybelline washable mascara, also. It comes off with soap and water. Waterproof mascara is not for me. It clumps when you try to take it off. Soap and water do not work. It flakes. Even Maybelline.

This is why I too like the washable kind. I also have noticed that not all washable mascara is washable. I mean some still are very sticky and pull your lashes out by trying to clean them. I have never liked putting cold cream or greasy cleaners on my eyes, it gets all inside of them and then I can't see. Thanks for sharing with me.

I have been using regular mascara for years and I too dont use makeup remover either. I wash it off with soap and water. I have been doing that for years.

I can't get enough of it off with just soap and water unless it is a washable mascara. It just sticks to my lashes, maybe I'm wearing too much :) Thank you for sharing with me though.

I used to buy Maybelline Ultra, in high school, then some other products. Lately I do not take a lot of time for makeup, but when I did, I usually used waterproof. The last mascara I can recall buying is Olay. It is time for some spring makeup purchases to spruce me up. Lol. I used baby oil , or Pond's coldcream to remove it.

That's why I love the washable type of mascara. Baby oil, ponds cold cream, or makeup remover are all oily and get into my eyes and I can't stand it. The washable comes off with soap and warm water. I've never heard of Olay having any mascara, I'll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing with me :)

I absolutely must have washable. The waterproof takes out half my eyelshes getting them clean even though I use eye make up remover.

That's me, if I use make up remover or something oily, it gets into my eyes and then my lashes still feel sticky, and messy. So I prefer the washable kind.

washable. I learned you shouldnt use waterproof on a regular basis because its bad for your eyelashes.

That's my way of thinking too, but when you go to purchase new mascaras, even in the avon catalogs, most all of them are not washable, they are waterproof or need a special oily remover to get it off.

I hate mascara - all of them! I have really short eyelashes but my eyes always seem to sting and water no matter which mascara I try! I prefer getting my eyelashes tinted - it is so easy if you get it done it takes less than half an hour and lasts 2 -3 months and it works out about the same price if not less!

You may be allergic to mascara if you have symptoms like that. I never heard of tinting the eyelashes before. That is a neat idea. Thanks for sharing that with me.

I don't curl my lashes, I have never had too. The Maybelline Great Lash has always done me a great job, but the brush and or the product I bought this week is horrendous! I am so disappointed. I always make sure I buy a washable mascara, b/c I can't use the make up removers, they get all in my eyes and I hate that. Thanks for sharing with me :)
