Patient has delayed swallow due to paralyzed left cord and subsequent repair. Hopefully will pass modified barium swallow test in two weeks' time. Need suggestions for soft diet if he passes the test. He can drink thin liquids like water fine right now, and hates soup, so that is a non-starter. Would be grateful for suggestions. Thanks. mum cooks this porrige when we are down with a sore throat. Boil rice with four or five times amount of water or with stock, it absorbs lots of water, it need constant watch and replenish stock if necessary, it needs to be watery when eaten. When rice is very soft, add mince pork, chicken and diced veg and seasoning of pepper and salt and sesame oil.
