Why are most Disney characters from one parent families?

Now that you mention it, there are a lot of dysfunctional families in the Disney world. Maybe that's because they make for more interesting families. At least all those baby dalmatians had two parents!

What do you mean? They were only raised by one parent or? :P Because I'm quite sure EVERYBODY has two parents, even Jesus does even if one of the biological parents is God :P About the question. Hmm, because it's more drama if they come from a shattered family? That'd be my guess.

I meant that they only live with a mother or father or that some time during the course of the story a parent will die or they will be orphaned.
