The NBA Playoffs is just one month away, and as the countdown draws nearer, the action is heating up. Currently, the Washington Wizards is on top of the team standings in the Southeast Division above the Miami Heat and running second in the East Standings behind the Detroit Pistons, but as of March 21, the Wizards is just a half game ahead of Miami in the division and six and a half games behind Detroit for the conference top seed. Let's discuss about the Wizards' playoff run. First, will they stay on top of the Southeast now that the Heat is making a statement with Shaq and Eddie? Second, assuming that they already have the Southeast can they overcome the Pistons for the nuumber one seed?

1st off, I am a Laker fan, but I love watching teams that can light up the scoreboard, and are exciting. I think that Miami has too dominate a center in Shaq. Even though he is old now, he still takes up a ton of room. Plus, The Het's offense plays better as a team with Shaq on the court, because they can start the offense through them. I do think that the Wizards can top Detroit, though. Normally I would never say that, but with Chauncey Billups out, it is going to be tough for Detroit. Last but not least, any team that has a huge offense can make a run in the playoffs....but, it's the defense that wins. Hence, the Spurs...maybe boring to watch, but they still win Championships...Same with the Pistons...But look at the suns...Great offense...no defense...no Championships. By the way, welcome to Mylot. I am a big sports fan, and I sent you a friends request. If you want, I can give you some tips for building your referral base if you want to make a little money. I kinda agree with you about the Wizards catching the Pistons, but I don't think it'll happen. Even if it happens, the Pistons are getting a good result from Billups being hurt. Chauncey will probably take it slow for the rest of the season with the groin, but this gives the Pistons the ability to get minutes to Flip Murray and Antonio McDyess in the rotation and get them going for the postseason... those are two guys who will be important for the Pistons to get going because, especially with Flip, they will give them offense off the bench and scoring when they have to go to them in the playoffs.

I don't think the Wizards are going to do it. Here's the thing, the NBA is a sport where you have to pay your dues before you can advance... the Bulls of the 90's had to get past the Bad Boy Pistons before they could rattle off challenges... the Lakers had to get past the Spurs (not to mention get Phil Jackson on the bench)... the Heat last season had to get by the Pistons... The Wizards still haven't had that one challenge in the playoffs... last season, the Cavs were the better team, and they probably are still not as good as the Cavs this season. There's no way the Wizards are better than the Pistons, it's a crap shoot with the Cavs, and what happens if Dwyane Wade comes back early and shows some heart... he'd be an instant catalyst for the Heat. Besides, the top 3 teams in the NBA are Western Conference teams...

I think the Wizards (with my man Gilbert Arenas) will win the Eastern finals over the Pistons (although look out for the Cavs who are making a move). They will, however, lose to the Suns in the NBA finals.
