You might want to have a long conversation with your hubby before you decide to pry into his personal e-mail account. It might only serve to alienate him if he finds out. If not there are programs you can download called keycoders I think? They record every keystroke so you'd be able to know what he was writing and you can also make it so they run invisibly so he wouldn't know they were on the computer.
