Hard to believe... Everytime my kids have a birthday it invokes awe in me!

I know everyone says it, but I just can't believe that much time has passed between now and the time they were born! Today is my younger son's 15th birthday. In the last year he has surpassed me in height and his voice is so deep it's hard to believe it's him on the phone. Time flies...when you're so in love with your babies.

I know what you are talking about here. My 11 year old and I can wear the same shoe size and she will be taller than me by fall for sure. My middle child is going to be six soon and went off to kindergarten this year. Even my baby is growing up on me! She is two and thinks she knows everything. *sigh* The problem is not that they are getting older, it is that they are dragging me down with them! lol

There is that time when my boys were young and I was having a car problem and my older one who was three at the time gave me a whole technical rundown of what to do about it. He specifically said, "Mom, you should listen to me because I know about cars and you don't." He was 3. Now he's 16. SIGH.

I know exactly how you feel, my son will be 15 next month & it has really been tugging at my heart. It just doesn't seem like he has been with me that long. I hate to think about how I will feel when he hits 18. Like you, my son passed me in height, his voice deepened, and it seems like overnight he became mature & manly. I still have 2 children younger than he is, but he is not only my only son, he is my first child. When he leaves to got to college, I don't think there will be enough tissues in the state to dry my tears. God Bless to you & yours.

Just wait, mom. My oldest turned 16 this year. I know what you mean about the tugging at the heart. I got to telling the boys what wonderful young men they are and how I so proud of them. I got misty about it. They know I am just a soft hearted cuddly mom anyway. They act cool with their friends but they are always gentle and affectionate with me alone.

I don't have any kids but I see my niece and nephew growing up too and it amazes me so much how much they change day to day even! They do grow up fast

Sometimes you notice it more with kids you don't see everyday.

That's how I feel when I think about how old I'll be in a few weeks, how old my kids are, and how old my grandchildren are. I swear I was just 21 the other day, and now I'm drawing Social Security and looking forward to retirement later this year. Where did all the time go? My kids were just babies the other day, and now they're in their 40s with kids of their own. Hard to believe, isn't it?

For the longest time in my twenties and even in my thirties I thought alot like a teenager. It's tough when I feel my arthritis and my sick back :( Now I am only middle aged and I feel like I am terribly old.

I know how you feel kbkbooks. I only have one child and it amazes me how fast he can grow. At 15, he is already his father's height and may shoot up more.

Oh, he will indeed, make no mistake about it. Both my sons passed me, the second one this past year and he just turned fifteen.
