My cat meows all night!! We can't close any of the bedroom doors otherwise she gets all upset and starts meowing like crazy! She is 21 years old with no health problems and is up to date on all shots etc. but never did this before when she was younger. Is this normal?

Moomin on my bed - Moomin gets her own way
Moomin is very vocal on occasion, and will moan at me if the doors are closed, or she wants me to take notice. She has always been quite loud, although she generally*talks* when she gets fussed over.

My cat meows a lot when she is hungry. She even climbs and sits at your lap just to catch your attention.

Ours meows if she's out of water. We keep her dry food out at all times b/c now that she's older she just grazes whenever she feels like it, no set time anymore.

Gee 21years old is a good age for a cat, I had a cat that was 17years old and she went a bit like that near the end, she looked ok abut had kidney problems, so jus keep a check on that, maybe your cat just likes to be near you....

Yes, we are so thankful that she has made it this long too! She is a spunky little thing!!! We just had her to the vet because I was worried about her being in pain, but everything is great with her. I think she just likes being the little diva and getting lots of love!LOL!

My cat does the same thing if we close the bedroom door...and like your cat she is perfectly healthy (mine's just about 20 years younger than yours). WE also live in an old house with uneven floors, so when we do close the doors, if we don't open then for her, she'll run full speed and pounce on the door trying to knock it open. Your baby just wants to be close to you...indulge her :)

Shes very old. Eather she is really lonely and misses you. ( i would bring her int bed with you) or there is something going on inside of her, like shes starting to get sick or break down, and shes trying to tell you. Cats can act strangely when they are starting to get sick and with as old as your kitty is, i would start expecting some deteriation. I would guess that if shes happy if your doors are open, that she wants to be close to you though. My cat howls all night long if she cant get onto my bed. She actually has her own spot. thank goodness we have a big bed, becuse there is 3 in there, soon to be 4, and a cat hehe.

Oh my goodness that's alot to fit in one bed!LOL! I do think it's because she's lonely and wants love and attention all the time...she is such a little lover girl. It's a good thing that someone is always home because then I would feel really bad for her.

i have a russian blue that is extremely vocal. he likes to "chat" with people. he likes to yell if people are on the phone also, because at that moment he is not having full attention. it sounds like your cat gets lonely at night. i actually have a pet door on mine so they can come in and out,and i can still have the bedroom door closed.

Hi friend it sounds like shes just lonely. I cant close my bedroom door either because my cats will cry outside my room and make all kinds of noise trying to get in the room.LOL My cats are just brats.LOL I think its normal for your cat to cry she just wants you to pick her up.

I think cats tend to get more vocal when they get older. I suppose they start getting grumpy and fussy just like humans do! I wouldn't worry much about it at all. Ours doesn't miaow too much, but she's only 5. She miaows when i get a can of tuna out, and sometimes just randomly, but mostly she makes a cute little half purr half miaow sound, usually if we stroke her or something.

i think she just wants to be close to you. my cat has always done this, just because she is nosey or lonley.

Oh good, I'm glad mine isn't the only one that does this! She is a nosey little stinker, always has to be into everything, even now!!
