why do you/dont you keep a journal?  | |  my mom was the person who motivated me to keep a journal. on my 9th birthday, she gave me this stuff and told me to write on it the things that will happen on my life, whether its bad or good. until now, im still keeping it.. its nice keeping a journal because aside from pictures, this can help you remeber the things that happened in your life. i can express my emotions on it (especially when im depressed or upset), through writing, and it gives me a nice feeling after. dont want anyone to read my journal, including my boyfriend. and im glad that he respects it.. how about you? what is the nice thing about keeping a journal?

personal stuff..hmm..i like to keep it for myself..i may not remember the date or exact time, but those kind of things that i want to be with me..so i keep it in my memory..^_^

But I didn't able to continue it for more than a month because I didn't get anything to write for some days and other days I didn't have time to write. Now also sometimes I feel I should write a journal, but I never do it.

| | | 3. writermom8 (213) | 1 year ago |  I used to keep journals when I was in gradeschool until my early college days and I still laugh when I get to read my childish entries in those days. Now that I'm a busy mom who also works as a freelance writer for magazine, I find it bothersome to maintain a notebook to write down my thoughts in (heck, I sometimes even forget to jot down important schedules in my calendar!)
But I do maintain online blogs. I find them easier to access since I'm almost always in front of the computer anyway and the knowledge that there are people reading about my ramblings, that's something. I feel that I get to share my thoughts as I learn more from friends and family who take time to comment on my entries.
I guess there are people like me who need that kind of assurance that there are beings out there who care for me even if we don't see each other often (or haven't even met yet!).

| | | | | 5. explorations (645) | 1 year ago |  I'm addicted to writing in journals - and, talking about writing in journals. I love the act of writing, for one, and the act of preservation. Not only of my thoughts and feelings, but also of what's happening around me. I also use bits from my journals to twist into works of fiction I'll eventually craft into novel length material one day. Like you, my mother gave me my first journal - it was a pink diary with a lock and key. The mysteriousness about the act of writing, then locking away those words inspired me to continue. Over the years, tnough, I graduated to unlocking journals and have also used spiral bound notebooks.
