Will Chinese become the next No 1 world language instead of English?  

I think so that will happen that chinese will be no. 1 language in the world, all I know is that there more chinese speaking people in the world than any language, because china has the largest population than any country.

I doubt that. Its like this, people learn to speak chinese to go into business with the china people but usually those who learn them are those people that are doing the marketing and purchasing of materials, not the big people in business. English has been the international language ever since, and Iam sure it will still be in the future to come.

I don't think so. English language is already known worldwide and many countries had implemented to include english in their curriculum in able for them to communicate wherever they may go. Chinese language is hard to understand especially writing. Chinese language are many it includes cantonese, fokien, mandarin ..etc. In writing it has two..simplified and traditional, I don't know the others. I tried once to bring chinese magazine to my colleague who is chinese and she even can't read it, because the language as she says is different, but i thought it is just the same. Taiwan writing is different in mainland China. So i think, English is still better..because it is easier to read and understand.

We are learning English for that foreigners learn chinese in the future.

Yeahh..I can say,China now is like a giant of industry,bussiness,and so on..For example,many people from my country come to China just want to learn chinese..China is the one which has big population too..They are exist over the world even in my country,u can meet them too..i,myself also a chinese but i wasn't born in China ^^.But to learn chinese is not so simple as English..they have so many characters and intonation when u speak..if u forget the characters,u can't read it,and finally u can't understand ,for ex when u read a book or newspaper in chinese language..Now,i can't say if chinese will become the No 1 world language instead English.. i just can say Now a days,the World languages are English and Chinese..They're so important not just now but in the future..they will compete each other..

I think so as we have the largest population in the world and nowadays our country become more and more popular with our entry to WTO and many other global organizations and joined in many important activities, more people have become more interested in China and had more contact with China, hence the need to learn and speak in Chinese by more people around the world. It's likely that someday in the future, chinese will become the most important language.
