John Edwards has decided to keep running for president, despite the fact that his wife is very ill. What are your thoughts?

I think this must have been a difficult decision for them both. I'm sure he has her blessing though. I have no idea what changes this will create in their personal lives but they've probably worked that all out already. In terms of his career, some people will be bothered as though he is "abandoning" his wife in her time of need. (obviously he's not since he wouldn't continue without her approval). I don't like the idea of mixing personal and professional life in most cases but under the circumstances, he could use his wife's experience to his advantage by promoting better women's health care. I think that could be a rather strong platform. I honestly have not paid a bit of mind to the candidates yet so I'll just have to start reading up on them all a bit to get a better idea of how this could play out.

He should continue to keep running for President as one should not mix business and personal lives. She obviously wants him to run for President. He probably would make a better President given the suffering he is going through right now.

I think he doesn't have much of a chance of actually becoming president running against Hillary and Obama. Of course his wife would say "honey, go for your dream", but that might not be how she really feels. If he put his campaign on hold for his family (the kids are too little to have a voice in this situation) I think it would benefit him for the elections in 4 years. I haven't watched the special with Katie Couric yet, I am planning to watch it tonight, what a tough decision to make.

He should step down but who am I to say as him and his wife have talked endless hours on this I am certain and only her influence will decide if he sticks to it or backs out of it. This is not a public call nor should it be publicly judged should he stay or go in favor or not of some vote regarding his moral obligatory character flaw . . . sharing the light and happy new year, Miss Erica Hidvegi, the Enlightenment_Advisor, B.A. Psych/M.A. Transpersonal Studies- Cnslng/Author, Artist, Photographer, Entrepreneur & Freelance extraordinaire www.enlightenment-psych.net
