I'm not a hoitie toitie art person. I appreciate art for MY own appreciation, not anyone elses. I love to see the beauty in different styles and I think one of my favorite art styles is surrealism. One of my favorite artists I've found is George Grie. One of his pieces is what I am currently using for my avatar. Here's another piece he created.
What do you see in it? What does it say to you? There is no right answer. It's all in the eye of the beholder. That's what I love about art.

I'm not very fond of surrealism, with some exceptions. Check the link and you will see a page of our artist Navitrolla (it's his artist name). Most of his pics are surrealistic jokes in traditions of the best Estonian humour. Most of titles are translated to English (unfortunately not all. If you'll have some questions, just ask)

Your avatar is beautiful. Now I have forgotten what your old one looked like.

I rated the picture and left a comment there as well. Grie is a very talented artist. I see so many different things in this painting that it is hard to pick just one. I guess my first reaction to this would be that it feels like he is kind of living in the lost city of Atlantis. In his own space, his own little world, locked away, denying himself. I love the use of his different shades of blue and the shading effects he uses. I am really glad you shared this. Thanks. It made me think.

I'm so glad to have even ONE person appreciate it so much!!!!!!!!!
I saw a combination of like the Titanic (the staircase brought that in mind), underwater but real life issues and places drowning him like the office and work.
I agree, you have no clue where to start with it all! Thank you and I'm so glad you appreciate it as much as I did!
