how many hours of playing a game system like game cube is good for your child.  

I used to be like that when i was 14 but time changes and your son will become obsessed with other things in time to come, i think that it is bad for a 14 year old to play on the game all night and day but i work on my PC nearly all day and night so don't have a problem, if he is getting his homework done and is good at school then this should be fine but make sure that he goes to bed at a sensible time, thanks

My 12 and 15 yr olds (and DH!) can spend HOURS on games. I know that sometimes it takes a while to accomplish a mission or whatever, but I think there really ought to be a stopping point. DH's problem is that he'll want to try just "one more thing" and it'll end up taking 5 tries and another few hours. It's easy to get lost in the time too. I try to limit them to an hour or so at a time, but it doesn't always work. They've got to stop when it's time for meals or to do other things. On occasion it's fine to go longer though.
