Houston Texas. then I got another email for the same merchandise with another persons name. I think this will mess up my Payments from Paypal. Anyway is Bank of America affliiated with paypal? I am thinking this is another scam? This is what that email said. Your online Banking is Blocked: Because of ususual number of invalid login attempts on you account. I didn't know I had an account with Bank of America, is this another Scam. I need some answers tell me what you all think? they said we had to believe that, their might be some security problem on your account. So we decided to put an extra verificaton process to ensure you identity and your account security Please click on sign in to online banking to continue the verification process and ensure your account security It is all about your security, thank you, and visit the customer service section. That sounds like another Scam to me. what do you think, I am not go to do anything I just wanted everyones opinion. I think I am screwed up. + for everyone. 1. funnysis (1545) | 3 years ago | It is indeed a scam I have gotten several and I just reply politely and say you can't close something I don't have and paypal I sjust forwrd the whole email to them I have called and talked to them and paypal is really secure someone hit one keystroke to close to my password and paypal froze my account until I changed it and everything.Changing your passwoord will not interfere with payouts it only helps to keep people from getting into your account.people use what they call key loggers to trace every key you hit that way they can get your information but if you run adaware and a virus protection that can't get to you.Good luck and hope this helps some

2. Polly1 (8450) | 3 years ago | Whatever you do Marcie, never click on a link in an email. Don't log into any accounts thru an email neither. If you need to check on something always go to the site on your own and then log in. Contact paypal and send them a copy of the email, they will look into it and then get back to you. If you don't have an account with Bank of America don't worry about that email, just ignore it. Also never give out personel info thru an email neither. We all have to be extra careful. Good luck I hope you get it figured out.

5. whiteheather39 (13225) | 3 years ago | I have been the potential victim of some scams myself. Remember never to click on an email, check the browser address it must start with https:// the (s) is for secure site, forward the email to PayPal spoof they are very good in following up and letting you whether if it is fake or not. I just changed my papal password last week as my bank debit/credit card had been charged with items in Germany and It all came from my Ebay account. What really scares me is hacker who use a "keylogger" system that can check every keystroke you make on your computer. Make sure your spy shield has the keylogger shield ON. The biggest indication of a fake is being asking to click on anything in an email for verification...Always check with the company as they never ask you to update info in email.

6. Amberluv2000 (375) | 3 years ago | I have received those emails as well. I reported it to paypal and they are not real. These emails always have a website link included in the body of the email that supposedly directs you to the paypal website so you can log in with your username and password. Even though the website looks identical to the paypal log in screen it is not real/valid. The person who sent you the email is just trying to steal your username and password. If you get one of these messages never click on the link, just open up a new browser menu and type in https://www.paypal.com. This will bring you to the legitimate website. Paypal is a secured website meaning your information is safe and there will be a security lock at the bottom of your screen. Anytime that a website starts with https:// that means that your information is protected. You can review your account information from there and you will see that there have been no delinquent charges made to your account.

8. soccermom (1810) | 3 years ago | I am so glad I saw this today! I received 3 emails over the weekend saying a third party tried to access my paypal account and I have to identify myself with all my info again so it gets "unfroze". Now I have to wonder if this is a scam. I clicked the link that took me to what appeared to be the paypal site, but now I wonder. I didn't take care of it this morning, so I think I will forward the email to Paypal just to be on the safe side. Thanks marcia!

9. raydene (5312) | 3 years ago | Good for you that you caught them. There are so many of the scam artists out there so if you can put even one out it will be better for all.One thing when you get an email open a new window and type the paypal, amazon etc directly into your address bar.Go to them sign in and check your accout.I get emails all the time but my account shows that they was no activity. When you get them make sure you click spam rather then delete . Also before you get rid of the email if it's paypal forward it to spoof@paypal.com .within 24 hours they will tell you weather it is an email they sent or if it's bogus. Also most of these sites have a place where you read about these freudulent emails.Red,Keep your eyes open and never click inside an email to go to the website because it will look like the website but will be a phish site where they steal your password, personal info. Good Luck Hon

Writerbob (415) | 3 years ago | What happened to you is an example of that yucky term "Phishing" (not to be confused with the great band Phish), where people, almost 98% of whom appear to be Nigerian, try to get you to click through to a dead link, or at least that's what it appears to be. It actually is a small database program that will collect the username and PW you enter, and then later those evil-doers will try to clean out your account. Good for you for catching it!
