Hi I think about what age to settle down & think that is it on how your goals are really. I mean what your goals are lol. Basically, if you want to have kids & your are a woman--you have not as much time as a man would specifically if you want to be pregnant & have a baby. A friend of a friend had artificial insemenation when she was 32 in order to have a kid. Others adopt from China through Children's Bridges or other International adoption agencies. As well, it is your description of "settling" down. I had decided that in my mid-20's (before I met and married my husband & bought a townhouse with him) that I wanted to buy my own piece of real estate prior to turning 35. I was prepared to DO anything within reason such as put off purchasing a car and to continue taking the bus. As well, as eat all my meals in or carry my lunches and not buy coffee. Before I met my husband, that is exactly how I was living & I also chose to see a Financial planner. Because no matter where you are currently, you can't "just decide" to become a home owner--you need your serious debts (over 10K) paid off or down. You also need to have your 5% down payment & enough to cover all the extra fees that will cost to hire a lawyer etc. Or else, it doesn't matter about your state of mind--so its time to be a responsible adult I think & just go about and educate yourself on what it is that you want out a life & out of your current salary. For me, that decision about the house, inspired me to go back to school & start my own business.

sometimes they say it's 25 but for me I agree with you..It's when you're ready that counts.
