Has anyone tried travelling with a pet passport. If so, how did it go?

I live in the UK. Both my dogs have pet passports. These took quite a long time to get. They had to be micro chipped and then given an anti rabies vaccination. After that we had to wait 6 months before my dogs had their blood tested to see if they were protected against rabies so that they could get their pet passports.

This summer I would like to take them to France for week. Thay are both Poodles. I have seen lots of this breed of dog in France. The French people seem to really like them. I will have to put them in a pet carrier case for the journey on the ferry. We will have to get tick treatment for my dogs before we come home again.
