This is one of those things that explains how crazy life can get...
We went grocery shopping last week. I'd gotten a whole roasting chicken. He unloaded the groceries for me. I put them away. We both forgot the chicken. I have no idea how it happened, maybe it slid under the seat, maybe it was too dark and he didn't see it. I didn't even remember I'd bought one and so I didn't notice it was missing...until today. The temperature had been staying mostly chilly. Today though it got up pretty high for this time of year. In town, I was told, the bank clock read 75F. That's how we remembered the chicken. I went out to get something from the truck. As soon as I opened the door the smell hit me. I came back in and told him I thought something died in it. It was THAT bad. He said he knew, he'd noticed it when he got in a few hours before but didn't know what happened either. Thus began our search. Alright I'll admit, HIS search, I wasn't about to purposely look for a dead animal, which is exactly what I thought it was. Well it was actually but one that had already been wrapped and packaged. I'm glad it wasn't a dead animal in the way I was expecting, at least the chicken was all wrapped up but still I can't figure out how we both managed to forget about it. I'm sure the smell will go away eventually and now we have learned a very important lesson...
"When life gets crazy, don't forget to check for frozen chickens in your truck!"
Care to share any of your "lessons learned"?

we were newly weds and paiting the town red definately. Once around 11 at night we decided along with another couple to go and have some chicken and that too on a highway restaurant out of the city limits. It was a small lace but still it was a nice long drive till their. we had our dinner and we came out after driving for around 1Km fromt he restaurent our bike spluttered and stopped, reason was -a susual no -petrol it was well beyond midnight and even highway was all empty. The other couple were on scooter so my hubby put his one foot on his scotter and both the wives that is me and my friend held each other with arms and we pulled our bike along side his scooter and after one hour drive like that till our home, our arms were paining like hell. As there were no petrol pumps open we had to come home by that towing only but after that day, I laways ask him if he has enohg petrol and he also keeps checking. I wioll never forget that dinner ever.

I have lost track of how many times I've done the same thing! Well not the part involving towing a scooter but I've run out of gas more than a few times. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been to do for a whole hour. My (now ex-) hubby's truck broke down while we were on our honeymoon. He managed to get it to the hotel so I waited up in our room while he tried to fix it himself...some honeymoon!
