| voice recognition  | | | |  I gotta admit after playing with Voice Recognition in Windows Vista that it IS awesome. Unlike the current Mac OS X(Tiger), which limits the voice commands to just a few of "speakable items", it does execute real voice commands, and basically what you see on your screen, as long as you can pronounce them, can be used in Voice Recognition. Say if I want to draft a letter in Note Pad, all I have to do is say "start note pad", and my computer will do the job. I can also edit the content of that letter by saying simple commands into my microphone. It doesn't work perfectly of course, but for anyone who wants to just have a taste of the near future, it's definitely a decent toy.
Any idea when Mac could do the same?

| |  I've heard of vista but not of its recognition software, is it that good to use? wow, how I wish I could upgrade to vista.. :S I really wanna try it.. huhu It can do anything what you say on the microphone? I guess that's one software that could make us evolve more in the future, like could be much more convenient.. Sorry, I really have no idea when it comes to Mac..

| | yeah that's definitely one of the unrevealing "wow" factors of Vista. I simply walked through the tutorial, which according vista would help a great deal getting used to my voice, and after that, I can pretty much say what I want. Another amazing part of it is you can also turn the voice recognition on or off using your voice too. So if you want to start dictating to you computer, say "start listening", and it will be activated. Anyway, whenever you get a chance, be sure to try that out. | | | |

| | Yeah I guess there are a few new features that Microsoft has added to Vista. Well I haven't dig too deep into Vista but I can tell you that visually, the "fade in/out" effect with retouched animations have applied to windows, so it does look a lot more friendly and prettier than xp, letting alone the 3D flipping trick which makes switching among different windows a great deal of fun. And I don't think any imitating visual style has come that far yet.
