What is your favorite Settlers game version?

I really loved the second one but unfortunately it doesn't work on my new computer (for lack of a COM port I guess :( :( ). I also played the fourth and I found it OK but quite difficult, I really couldn't pass that timed quest (the fourth one if I remember correctly, you had to beat a tribe in an hour and a half or something similar). How about you, share your Settlers related experiences :o)
