I am in touch with a member from Illinois who travelled to New York for a recent meeting. His only complaint? Most members appear to be in their later years - there are very few youths involved. Interestingly, there was really not much talk of Holmes, rather, they were merely interested in catching up on each others' lives.

Quite honestly I'm been interested in joined a Holmes related group for a long time. There are many - just Google "Sherlock Holmes Club and Your City" replacing "Your City" of course with the city in which you live.
Near me there used to be a New York group called "The Cave Dwellers", but alas, they have never returned any of my letters. I'm more interested in talking about coincidences in Holmes' life with current and historical fact, as well as the actors who portrayed him, namely: Jeremy Brett and Peter Cushing. I'm not much of a Basil Rathbone fan. The stories were so rewritten and stretched during his time that it was often hard to grasp the writing of Conan Doyle. I much prefer Granada's version with Brett. Quite often they took whole scenes word for word, and Brett continually argued for the purity of the characters and their actions.

I invite any Brett/Holmes fans to write me and become my friend! It's great that we Sherlock Holmes followers have the opportunity to converse here at MyLot.

I've never heard of this group but I'm sure it would interested to be a member and add some youth to the group to keep it going for another generation.
