Looking out my kitchen window...

I just wanted to share with everyone the beauty I see when I look out my kitchen window at this time of year. My backyard is one of the biggest reasons I chose to buy this house. I love all my flowering trees. The Bradford Pears have lost most of their flowers but the blooming cherry tree in this picture is just right.
That big brown glob of branches on the archway in a week or so will be absolutely beautiful. It's my wisteria tree/ vine. I love it. The bad thing though (like the blooming cherry tree) is the flowers don't last very long:(
I took the picture at the wrong time of day - too sunny. I had a feeling the other day I better take it then or I'd miss my chance. I was right. That night it rained so hard and the drops where so big that it knocked most of the beautiful petals off my blooming cherry tree. I also took it through the screen 'cause I couldn't take the screen off the window and I really wanted to capture the actual look that I see when I look out the window.

I have to say that the land that came with this place is one of the key things that sold me on this house actually...We are planning on doing some landscaping this yr finally and actually flowering trees and actually have been heavily leaning towards a wisteria cause they are very pretty...and a magnolia tree along with some others...
The tree in this pic is another thing that sold me..we put those swings up but when we came to view the house there was a tire swing there which just made me light right up...The woods behind them would be yet another thing because it also came with the land (50 acres total)

That is a very beautiful lot!! I do love that tree too!
If you do go for the wisteria please remember they are VERY aggressive and will bust pipes and the like. They also grow at an alarming rate and will take everything and anything they're close to over. And only trim it after it blooms or in the fall or it won't bloom:( I really love mine though. If we ever move I'll be planting one there 'cause it is extremely beautiful when bloomed.

:-0 will they really?! wow! thanks for telling me that cause I was thinkin about planting it near the house LOL maybe I'll plant it closer to the woods or even in the woods near our "thinking" spot (little clearing we have back there with a picnic table etc)...ooh or better yet in the centre court area that way I could still enjoy it but it wont mess with our pipes/lines/septic/other plants LOL....Thanks so much for telling me that! I really want one cause they are absolutely GORGEOUS IMO

It sounds beautiful. I think I have a good view out my kitchen window too. I have alot of land out my back and there once was a blueberrie field here and they would pick them and sell them to the stores. We still have alot of the blueberries trees that still give us blueberries. And the dear come up and eat from them.

We love our windows. Mine is beside the computer and soon the plastic will come off and I will see the deer, bunnies and the different birds that come. I have wild strawberries and other early flowers in the wildness that most of my property still is. I love Wisteria and weeping cherries. My weeping cherry is out by the shed near the vegetable garden and tractor. Thanks for sharing this and I hope most everyone has a window that has a real nice view!

Lucky you! I would love to live out in the country...just me and nature *ahhh*. I LOVE the weeping cherry trees too. If I ever do buy land I will have one of those AND a weeping willow - cause that really is my FAVORITE tree - ever since I was a little girl :)

That view is so beautiful. I am not that much lucky yet with any of our window. We are still in apartment, so no very much nice space around. I hope sometime I will be able to buy a house with very beautiful view around.

My yard is one acre surrounded by woods with a creek running along the back of the property so every window I look out of, I see tons of trees and the patio door gives me a view of the creek and the deer that come feed close to our house whenever I put food out for the squirrels. On occassion I even see a fox running thru my yard. Love watching the squirrels antics in the morning while I'm eating breakfast.

That sounds wonderful! The country life is so nice and relaxing :) In the house we rented before we bought this house we had squirrels all over our yard. We use to love watching them too.

I have a great view out any window I look out. We bought my grandmother's house when she passed away. So, every window I look out reminds me of her. I look out one window and see the old tulip tree she planted years ago, I look out another window and see the front porch she use to love to sit on in the summer for hours. Every window hold a great memory.

I love the picture of your backyard as it looks like you have a very big backyard. The scenery is very nice. I bet that you spend a lot of time there during the spring, summer and fall. I have a townhouse so I do not have a big backyard, I added solar lights to surround my patio and plan on adding a bird bath to my backyard. I will take a picture when I have more back there but here is picture looking out my parents kitchen window.

Yeah we have a decent sized backyard. I don't spend as much time back there as I would like because I work third shift and the weather is the best in the evenings when I'm asleep.
Your parents seem to have a nice backyard too :)

You do indead have a wonderful natural view from your kitchen window. Just curious as to whether the window is above the kitchen sink so that you can see the beauty while performing one of the most horrendous (to me) tasks of housekeeping....dish washing.
I too have a beautiful view from my kitchen window. I live on the 6th floor and from my kitchen window I can see the statuary of the Tagus River where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. My avatar is a view from my kitchen window (and balcony as well). It shows the the city of Caparica on the southern shore of the river. This picture was taken about a month ago but it is exactly how it looks at this very moment. My sign is Aquarius so you can imagine how much I enjoy my view. I view your picture and gave you a plus rating. Thank you for sharing.

My window is right above my sink. I hate doing the dishes too. It's a never ending job!
Thanks for the plus (and right back at you). Thanks for sharing your picture as well :)

Well you have me beat by a mile. We were fooled into thinking that spring was here. As I look out my window all I see is a full blown snowstorm. It has been snowing horizontally for two days now. I envy you your cherry blossoms. My cherry tree has barely started to bud thank goodness.

I'm being fooled now too! I just planted about 20 rose bushes and now I have to cover them because this weekend it's going to get below freezing again! The poor flowers just don't know what to think! I hope it doesn't ruin my wisteria as it's just starting to bloom. Poor flowers... I hope the snow lets up for you :)

when i look out my window i see a huge yard with wildflowers every where. also all our cars and etc, boat, camper, 2 trucks, and a car. i also see rabbits playing, dogs running around from people dumping off tehre pets and i feed them. hubby hates that. birds everywhere. if i get up real early sometimes i will see deer, racoons, armadillos, and other stuff like that. i live in the country and there is a deer lease across the road so we get alot of wildlife. i love my yard even with all the cars and etc. lol

That was one thing that appealed to us when we found our house, we have half and acre, with flowering trees that are just so pretty. I even cut some and put them in a pretty blue pitcher on my kitchen table. The bulbs my hubby planted last fall are up and blooming, pretty soon the tulips will be opening. I want to plant lots more, I have plans for flowers in the front of my house. I want some more flowering trees too.

That's a wonderful view to look out of all the time...and I'm glad you appreciate it...I'm a tree lover myself--My view isn't so enchanting.. :-( Looking out of my kitchen window I just see the other part of my apartment building...waaaaa --and the views from my other windows aren't stellar either...tall apartment buildings to look at...but right in front of my living room windows are beautiful maple trees...I wanted to scream though..there used to be a wonderful big branch that reached over and on windy days would brush up against the building...but the ditz woman who lives over me complained to the super that the "sound" of it brushing against her window annoyed her..so he cut the branch down...Arrgh!

Oh my! I always hate it when they cut down trees or trim them for what I consider no reason! A tree is meant to grow! But I do need to have my Bradford Pears tops cut or I could risk losing them a in a storm. I actually should have one more than I do know back there but before we moved in a bad storm took it out and part of another one.

you are blessed indeed. What a beautiful view you have from your window. You are so right about capturing the moment, I too try to do this. However, i find whatever picture i take never quite captures what I see in reality. Thank you for sharing this with us
blessed be

I tend to have the same problem about the pic not looking like reality. But I'm studying photography to try and fix that LOL :)

I here that for sure! I'm so glad all that was here when we got here. I just had to add some flowers to the flower beds cause I don't know a weed from a flower :) but it's looking better little by little as our wallet allows.

Thats a wonderful wonderful view you have there. We don't have a garden because we live in an apartment complex but I wish we did. I love gardening although I'm a complete novice lol, there's something so soothing about it.
I'm planning on getting some planters though and filling them with flowers and maybe a hanging basket or two - just to brighten up the little patch of concrete we have that passes (vaguely) for a patio lol.
I know for a fact that when it comes to buying our own home instead of renting, the garden is the most important aspect of it for me. I have so many ideas that I want to put into action, but just can't right now.

LOL I'm a complete novice too. My grandmother is could make coal flower - but not me. I've really got to be careful with it. I think it's cause I'm not very patient :)
I hope you get your garden soon :) They're very relaxing.

I agree with you. A nice garden always makes your place look different than the rest. I do think the picture here would have been great if it were not for the screen. For all tjose garden lovers check my statues, the just give the gardens that colonial look.
check us out totally affordable and great models
