In the Jewish faith a boy does his bar mitzvah at 13 and the girl does one called a bah mitzvah, the child is said to come of age at that time, Here in North America, many young girls had a cotillion in years gone by or a "sweet sixteen party" a way of introducing them to society as a young woman. Many Canadians can't wait until they are 18 and then legally adults and they have big parties with alcohol etc, in the states it can happen at 21. I didn't have a party that I can remember, when I turned 19. What is your custom and experience with coming of age?Did you have a religious ceremony like the Jews, or a big social thing etc?
