I am Canadian and am wondering what the difference between a community college,

a junior college and a university. Here in Canada, all we have are community colleges, universities and private colleges...what are the differences?

In the US a community college is generally (always, as far as I know) a two year educational institution. It can be public or private. It is generally more focused on trades/professions/job training than research.
