A Filipino boxer died | | A filipino boxer just died.. Lito Sisnorio. He went to fight In Thailand without the knowledge of his family and manager. He sustain a massive head injury after loosing in a fourth round knockout to the flyweight champion Chatchai Sasakul of Bangkok. How could this happend? without the knowkledge of the Philippine Sport commision? even the manager Sisnorio. They said that the fight was a mis-match.. It seems that our country focuses more on Manny Pacquiao and forget all the other small time boxers. How can they let this happend?

| | 2. id_pop (199) | 1 year ago | It's definitely a mismatch. 24-year-old Lito Sisnorio has only won four of his ten fights (prior to his last match), and it's easy to discern with those small numbers that he hasn't enough professional experience when he was sent to Thailand. His opponent, Chatchai Sasakul, has a record of 59-3, obviously an overwhelming over-match. What else can you expect from this match-up but a whooping on Sisnorio? Our fighters are being fed to other boxers as cannon fodder! There's nothing right, as far as I can see, in this set-up. In response, all boxing matches in Thailand involving Philippine boxers were banned by the Philippine Games and Amusement Board as of April 2007. A good move, but it does not erase the fact that an athlete has fallen, and has fallen the wrong way. Will the move to ban these fights give justice to his death? I don't think so. I believe whoever set the fight up in the first place should be given what he deserves. A sad, tragic news for us, indeed. Many of our boxers come from poverty, and often they invest a lot of time, effort, blood, and sweat to achieve their dream of being at the top. Most of the time, even, reigning at the top comes second only to earning enough to provide a living for their respective families. Lito Sisnorio can't be much different. Is this today's price for honest living? I hope not.
