Have you ever wanted to dress wacky & outrageous like Cyndi Lauper?

Do you ever have those moments in life when you're fed up of wearing the same, boring clothes that are generally seen as accepted by society, and wish you could dress up for the day, almost like dressing up with clothes from a dressing up box, wearing something that someone like Cyndi Lauper wore in the 80's? I would love to be have the confidence to just go wild and dye my hair, wear wacky, outrageous, colourful clothes and not to care about what anyone thought, but i know i'd never have the courage for it. What about you? Do you ever wish you could? Do you think you ever would? Or maybe you already do...

earlier me and my friends used to do it more often and enjoyed everytime. Even now, luckily,we do get opportnities to go wild and dress up outrageously in theme parties. The very recent one was a party with'Casino'as the theme and we had tremendous fun wearing the silly costume and the shimmering glitter masks. Our hubbies had great difficulty trying to figure out who's who.Lol.

I used to when I was younger(not quite like Cyndi Lauper though) I had my hair hot pink, purple, bright red, and even blue/black. It was very fun and I had funky punk rock hair at all times. I have toned it all down alot since I have to be very professional at the hospital. But I still love punk rock and ska music!

I don't dress outrageously, but I don't really care about what society accepts. I wear what is comfortable to me and if others don't like it, that is their problem. I think that people who feel like they have to wear designer clothes are being pretentious and I don't have much in common with them. I prefer to put my money on things that are not just going to be worn a few times. I live in Nicaragua and I am amazed by a few people here that the designer bug has bitten. Never mind that they live in a shack, by golly, they are going to look like they live in a mansion. If I were them, I would fix up my shack instead. I suppose I got a little off the subject. No, I don't want to be outrageous but I don't conform either.

LOL. I don't go to those extremes but my manner of dress is always questionable. One day it's camo pants and a sport bra, the next it's thigh high boots and a leather skirt. I don't really care what people think about the way I dress. I'd rather have them judge me as a person than as what I have on.

Well I guess I did when I was younger - a teenager in the 70's, and in my 20's during the 80's, so it's kind of out of my system now! I was definately a hippy in the 70's when I was at Uni - my hair was coloured with henna and down to my waist with blue and green streaks in it (LOL!), and I also experimented with quite a lot of wacky styles during my "New Romantic" phase in the 80's! Even now, in my 40's, I tend not to bow to convention - I still have a lot of big ear-rings I made myself back in the 70's, and even if I wear a conventional black skirt and white blouse for work, I tend to "dress it up" with big ear-rings, or a brightly coloured ethnic scarf of something! Clothes are part of our identity - so go on, -live dangerously if you feel the need to -it will cheer you up no end:-))

I used to! When I was in college I deliberately wore weird stuff. I was going through a phase! I sometimes wore a bright orange bridesmaid's tutu with a grey granny hat with a beanie baby lobster pinned to it. I lost the confidence though. :(

No, not if I wish to be taken seriously.
