This was taken from the CBS News:For four long years, life has been brutally unkind to most Iraqis, but Friday night they had one of those rare moments to focus beyond the daily violence that is swallowing their lives. One of their own took first prize in the Arab version of American Idol. I had no idea they had one of those shows. Does anyone have cable or a dish? Have you watched it? What do you think?

No I didn't know!! We've got a dish but not as many channels, we are now busy with American Idols, we don't even get to see the UK one anymore. Broadcasting here are state governed, with only one private broadcasting company under rather strict rules.

I have never seen the one in the UK. I would love to have a dish so we could get more international channels.

They had it long before American Idol ever started. Americans steal everythingfrom other countries, call it their own and them tend to belittle the original shows. America got the idea from the French equivalent.
