Skid Row Staph Infection  

The "Skid Row Staph" is a specific strain of staph that has been found among the homeless people here in downtown Los Angeles. It is so contagious, people have caught it from a hug-and died from it. When there is no where to put the homeless, they end up in our County Jail system and because staph can live on metal or plastic for up to five days, (The HIV virus dies within five minutes of exposure to air) it is being picked up by the inmates, guards, etc and people are dying from it. Please buy a bottle of Lysol or something with anti-bacterial in it and wipe down all of your home & car...Telephone, computer, any where you put your hands, etc. It is more likely not the same strain of staph-unless you've been in contact with people here in Los Angeles, but never the less-staph infections can be deadly so please continue treatment and have your doctor test the strain of staph to make sure it is not resistant to the particular type of antibiotics that you are using to treat this problem. We have had a lot of people dying but since there is no mandatory "Alert" on staph, it's not being reported as it should.
