What to put in a toddlers easter basket? |
| |
| Ok I've quickly realized with easter coming up that I should put my daughter together an easter basket this year. I have no idea what I should put in it. She is only 17 months old so I don't want to put candy in it. The girl has all the toys in the world she could ever want. What do you all think I should put in her easter basket? I know she won't remember it but I want to at least do something. | | | | | |

| | I'm putting a little play cell phone and some suckers. I also got her some magnets (the alphabet and numbers). Then I also picked up a couple small books, and some peeps! She won't get past the cell phone, lol. Happy Easter! | | | | | | |

| | I like the idea of the bowl and cup set. She needs more of those anyway, especially cups. I've never heard of the Kinder stuff. I'll have to check into that. Thanks for the tips. | | | |

| | I have also been thinking about this. I have 6 grandchildren, the oldest will be 7 later this month and the youngest is nearly 2. I will put a very little candy in the older childrens packages along with some small toys. (I mail them something b/c they live 2 hrs away.) The 2 & 3 yr olds will get a small toy or 2 and some semi-healthy snacks. How about giving your daughter: a book, socks, shirt, purse, healthy snack, music cd or movie, crayons....something for an activity she enjoys. Like you said she won't remember, it's mostly for you. Have fun!!! and Happy Easter! I posted a similar question and got one response, hope you get more. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for the great ideas. I love the idea of a small purse. I just took her to a easter egg hunt tonight and thought she was adorable carrying around her little easter basket. I could so see her carrying around a little purse like mommy. Too cute! And I'll probably get her a few coloring books and crayons. She's getting into coloring more now as long as I can keep her from eating the crayons lol. Thanks again! | | | |

| | My daughter is 16 months and I decided not to get her a basket this year as it is rather pointless. There really isnt much you can put in there besides some little toys but you said she already has a ton. If I were you, I'd just skip the basket and just give her a stuffed rabbit or something. Or you can put some plastic eggs around the house and have her find them if she is smart enough to figure out what to do. I think my daughter would be pretty lost trying to figure out that game lol | | | | | | |

| | You might be suprised about the easter egg hunt thing. I took my daughter to one this evening and was shocked by how much she got into it. I figured she would just walk around and lose interest. But she was really out there looking for the eggs and getting really excited when she would put one in her basket. It was really cute! | | | |

| | Well, for my kids I have always put candy in theirs, even before they were old enough to eat it. That was just more for me!! LOL, but if you are steering clear of it, maybe get her an Easter book and a stuffed animal and maybe a new movie? It is kind of hard if you excluse candy AND toys.... | | | | | | |

| | Bubbles. Bubbles are great for kids of all ages ( including my husband) they love them. Sure you will be doing the " work" at this point, but she will love it. Or you can get a bubble machine and let it blow the bubbles for her. You can put one of those in the bathroom when shes bathing, or outside so she can chase and pop them :) | | | | | | |

| | Does she like looking at books? Books are always a good idea. Also, clothes have always been a hit, too. They don't know any better and your little one then has some new outfits for Easter. Good luck with your Easter basket goodies! | | | | | | |

| | Boy, their are some great ideas here already. I agree with the person who suggested hiding those plastic easter eggs around the house and/or back yard. You could fill each plastic egg with pennies, nickels and dimes. You could get her a little bank, (an easter rabbit shaped one, if you can find it) to put the money in. You could put he bank in the easter basket. She can start learning about money this way. Also, hide the easter basket itself. When I was a kid I loved searching for my easter basket. If she likes stickers, you can put stickers in the plastic eggs, some in her basket and some in the other eggs. A little stuffed bunny in the basket would be cute too, those small, real soft ones. How about a little rubber duckie or bunny for bath time. A small bottle of bubble bath in the basket or a bunnny shaped soap, in the basket or in the plastic eggs. A bib with a bunny rabbit on it, a wash cloth. Anything she likes that is small enough to fit in the eggs or the basket should make her happy. Since she likes coloring, crayons and a coloring book made especially for Easter, or animals, like rabbits, chicks, etc would be cool for the basket. | | | | | | |
