Buffy Comic #2-The long way home (Buffy Season 8)  | |  **Warning, this discussion will contain spoilers for the comic**
Ok, you've been warned.....Finally...the next "episode" or rhater issue of the Buffy Season 8 comic is out. Another great effort by Joss. I am loving this comic. It's flows just like the show. When I am reading I can pratically hear the characters talking!
This issues....we see some more of what Scoobies are still hanging with Buffy, and we see Amy flexing some of her magical mojo. We still don't know who her gross boyfriend but I have my suspicions on who it is....I think it's gross Warren....extra gross cause he dosen't have any skin! But I was so glad to see Giles, Xander and Willow! I also LOVE Andrew and loved his lecture to the girls.
How are you liking the book? Any other thoughts on Amy's mysterious companion? What was the guy in the red shirt that we see in Buffy's dream? Spike? Angel? Are they any other characters you are hoping to see?

This is going to sound cheesey, but it's kinda like having old friends back. I know that there has been other buffy comics before this one, but this one (because it was written by Joss and is technically cannon) just feels so much better. It's almost like you can tell how much Joss missed them too.
So far, I'm really enjoying the story. Dawn's reaction to Buffy's hoard of slayers feels just right. Dawn was sent off to school and out of the way, while Buffy spends time with her special girls. I understand how hard that can be on Dawn, especially since Xander and Andrew both get to stick around and feel included.
As for Amy, OMG she is so bad. That dream totally had me fooled at first. She's such a good villian now that she has had time to hone her bad mojo skills. Also, who better than to go up against her than Willow. My only problem is that with Willow could come Kennedy...and I can't stand Kennedy. In Buffy's dream, it could very well be Spike because like they said, the person has to love Buffy. She doesn't have to love them back, and that has been the whole thing going on with the Buffy/Spike romance. While I think she does have feelings for him, it's not the same ones she had for Angel.
Warren as Amy's boyfriend?! That's a great theory. It makes perfect sense because they keep talking about how gross he is, and what is more gross than a guy with no skin? This is going to be particularly good because with Willow around, you know that there is going to be some huge showdown in store for us. Warren is just so evil!
There is a secret part of me that wishes there was some way to bring Anya back. I miss her, but I doubt that is going to happen. So I choose to pick Clem as the person I would like to see again. I was just reminded by someone that he drove away in the end. So he is alive and could very well come around to help. Besides, he's pretty funny too.
It's sad that Spike and Angel won't be around much. Their comics are only okay most of the time. I would love to see what Joss would do with them.

I was talkingwith my boyfriend and sister, and while they agree Warren is probably the best theory, my boyfriend had some pretty crazy other theory to throw out there, everyone from Adam to the Greuselog (from Angel).
I would love to see Anya come back in some way, and agree that the pervious Spike and Angel comics were only OK at best. No one can use Joss's characters like Joss, so I'm really anxious to see what happens next.
Man! When the show was on I thought it was hard to wait week to week. Now waiting month to month is just about killing me;-) | |
