AVIC-N2 retractable display won't open!

Help! As the subject line says, the the retractable screen on my Pioneer AVIC-N2 won't open. Normally, the display opens auto matically whenever I start my car, but a few days ago it stopped opening at all. Even when I press the "Open/Close" button on the front of the unit, it stays shut. I've e-mailed Pioneer asking them what I can do about this, but they haven't responded. I'm hoping that someone here can help me solve this problem, or at least offer some type of advice. Is there a way to manually open the screen? I paid $2000.00 for this system about a year ago, and I've really enjoyed it....until now. Needless to say, I need any and all suggestions asap. Thanx.
