Makeup at age 8? I don't think so!  

When I think about it, I have never been very clear why any woman wears make-up. I mean, when did all that start?

When did it become a "way of life" for women to put things on their face?

Most women are quite beautiful without it and seem to be taking a step backwards by using makeup.

Kids of 8 should not have makeup, if for no other reason its bad for their skin, But kids these day grow up too soon, think they are older than they are and having babies far too young

I have a 13 year old and a 9 year old stepdaughters. they are my husbands kids and there mother is starting to let the 13 year old wear makeup now which is an alright age I think as long as it isn't over done. she does not want the 9 year old to wear it, so I bought some play makeup for her for at my house because she really wants to wear it and when she comes over I let her use mine to put it on me and this helps out alot with her wanting to wear it...Once in awhile I will slip some of my blush on her and she is totally excited about that, it is hard when you have two girls so close so this is just what I do that helps alot

My daughter was 16 before we would let her wear it. She could use lip gloss and nail colours when she was about 13 and I was quite happy with that(she bites her nails so it was an incentive to grow them).
Although she never went against our wishes, she now sees how awful it looks even on girls of 13 and now she can wear it, she rarely does and then only mascara and eye shadow .
She was told no hair colour till 16 either and now although she used to have a strop about not being able to when she was 13,she doesn't see the need to do it now she can.
Both my kids had face paints for clowning around when they were younger but it had to be used in view of parents as the one time I didn't think of it,there were multicoloured arms and legs too,which don't mix well with the furniture.

My daughter is 6 and she plays with makeup at home too. I don't think I would ever let her leave the house with it on. She has lots of her own lip gloss and when she puts it on she just shines like she is all dressed up =) It makes her feel all pretty...I owuld just tell your daughter that she is too little to wear red lip stick to the store =)
