XM or Sirius?

Yup XM here too. I bought it as a present for my loved one, and hopefully he likes it. Any Howard Stern fans would pick Sirius, but since my husband doesnt care about him, this worked out nicely.

I bought Sirius satellite radio last July. My receiver stopped working this January. I called the warranty service and they wanted me to do all this work, then send the receiver to them to be fixed.

They said the work would take about 4 weeks.

I told them to just cancel the service. That's too much of a hassle.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the service. I just went back to regular radio.

I've had Sirius for over a year now and love it. I hate when I'm somewhere that I have to listen to terrestrial radio. The variety of music that I get to hear unedited and without commercials is amazing. The talk radio is also a lot better than what you can find on terrestrial radio.

As for the merger I know they are still working on it. Terrestrial stations are fighting the merger but it will be up to the courts. I hope it goes through. Combining the companies opens the door for a lot of new programming and technology improvements.

My husband is a long haul trucker and has an XM radio for about 1 year. He likes it a lot. The nascar station is not anymore, which he doesn't like. Aparently, it's on Surius though. He seriously thought about getting surius because of nascar, but I have gotten newsletters from XM stating that when the merger happens, both xm and surius will have a lot more channels together.

We have XM, too. It came in our car. When we bought the car (in 2005), there was still a nascar station, so my husband was really excited. It's not on XM anymore, so he doesn't really like that. But we still keep the subscription because there are other channels we like. Plus when we travel home, it's much more convenient than looking for a good station every 100 miles or whatever.
