Kids Moving Back Home

Hey Whit,

Being htat my oldest is only 15 years old, my kids have yet to move out, but I do know people who have had ot move back home, I have to say right now that I've heard some success stories and some horror stories.

I think parents who feel the obligation of never refusing their kids in hard times, is something that no parent wants to face, but not everyone is able to take their kids back in.

I think that it is really stressful when the kids have kids of their own and end up moving back in

My daughter that just moved out yesterday has taken off and gone to PA for a month or two before. But always returned home. I always knew she'd be back, even tho this time when she comes back with her friend, it will be to pick up her stuff.

When she lived with us, I set guidelines, as it was my house. For the most part she followed them. Since she is disabled and doesn't drive, and living in the country ( 18 miles to the closest shopping center), she really didn't get to just go. Her and I are more like best friends then mother and daughter. But at the same time, even tho we are like that, she knows I am her mother. It was hard at times, because if she didnt', lets say do the dishes, I couldn't very well take her tv time from her or anything like that. Even tho sometimes I would of loved to!!! But how do you tell a 30+ year old, "You were bad, no tv for you tonight!".
Sitting here thinking about it, now that she is on her way to PA., at times it was difficult. And I am sure she feels the same way. But we learned to cope with it.
