April 17 is election day here in Carbondale for city council and mayor. I'm really torn. The current mayor has done a pretty good job and is definitely very active in making the city a better place to live. His opponent is a great person and also likely to be a great mayor. To be hoenst, I have no overwhelming preference except that the challenger seems to be a bit more ethically driven than the incumbent, possibly becuase she's Paul Simon's daughter. How do you choose between two good candidates, knowing that there are so many offices with no good candidates?
