I was just wondering what kind of food do you generally like to cook? Are you a plain ole meat and potatoes kind of person? Or do you go all out lots of times and really cook up a storm? I'm skilled in French cooking, can do the souffles, crepes, quiches, etc.; I also do Italian, Mexian --have any idea how LONG it takes to make homemade tamales--Hungarian, Oriental...come to think of it...if it's food I cook just about anything no matter what nationality. Or do you just get plain lazy and pop in a frozen dinner in the oven or microwave?

I have seven children...being lazy is not an option. LOL
BUT!! There are nights that we have sandwich night because my partner is working a closing shift and my eldest son is working too. So, there is no point in making a huge meal when meals are planned for a large family to consume. Those night also turn into leftover nights. hehehe :)
I am not a meat and potatoes type of person anymore....I am no longer allowed to have high carb foods. :( So, I am very limited on what I am able to eat.
Now I make lots of meats and other things for those that CAN eat carbs.
Before my change of eating habits, I would cook a wide variety of things. But my favorite cooking was grilled burritos and veggie lasagna. :) And i was not allowed to cook the big frozen lasagna that often....everyone seemed to like mine more. It is just very time consuming. I would rather be lazy...but I like mine better too. :)

Oh, my gosh--seven kids...Yikes...and just where do you find the time to be here so much--LOL--or........hehe.......is it your means of escape. Actually while I'm a good cook, and do love to cook, I have to admit I've gotten a tad lazy..now that I'm in front of the computer so much doing a million things..I just whip up something quick for myself...also, I'm trying to go toward a more veggie kind of diet..I didn't get involved with cooking too much until after I graduated college...also I was inspired by the than newcomer "discovery" chef who was being introduced to this country..Jaques Pepin...I'm part French myself...but I also had taken French the language in college..I don't know it just popped in my mind to learn French cooking...also I must have inherited my great-grandma's skill in cooking...so was a true gourmet cook herself--as for my grandmother and mother..yikes those two couldn't cook a lick...my mother burned everything...LOL..so who knows maybe I got fed up with eating burnt food all the time and began inheriting my great-grandma's skill in cooking...and I must tell you..LOL...for the first time in my life I gained weight!! On my own cooking...hehehe--Like I said though, I don't cook as fancy now unless it's a holiday and then I do go all out...but I do still love to cook --but let's face it...it IS nice to just pop in a pizza now and then.

Oh I just stick to plain ol' American foods. Sometimes I'll make some Italian but nothing hard or spectacular. I am really picky when it comes to food and I dislike almost all other foods. Couple that with the fact that I absolutely hate cooking - and well I stick the what I call the basics. I don't usually do the microwave thing though. I rarely ever use it. But I do eat out more than I should I suppose. Or we'll eat something small. My poor hubby. Works hard all day and in pain and he gets hotdogs for dinner :( Bad wife! Bad wife!! LOL

I often will cook up a meat and potatoes meal for my family. Casseroles, stews and pasta dishes are also frequently served in my house. Since some of the kids do not really care for Oriental foods, I do not tend to cook those. We do make Mexican and Italian meals quite often though. I do not often throw the frozen dinner in, but I have to admit that it does happen occasionally.

I am a good cook and baker as well. I usually make all my own dinners unless I am really tired then it will be something easy. I don't get home from work till 5 so week days I make simple things and on weekends I cook big stuff, like this weekend I am making a turkey.

I never cook alone. I always cooked with my mom, partly because she is afraid i will burn her kitchen..LOL. Anway, my mom and I love to cook tofu soup, fried seafood, fried rice. Sometimes we will look at the recipe book and try something new too. I read your comment, and i think you are a great cook. Wow, i always want to cook crepes and quiches but my mind just went blank everytime i read the recipe. My mom did not like crepe and quiches, so she never want to cook it.
