Do you use Tartar Sauce to dip your fries in?

My husband puts tartar sauce on everything. I really prefer ketchup on my fries. When I went to England I developed a taste for vinegar on my fries that I have never really gotten over. I also love the horsey sauce from Arby's. It is good on everything!

I'm kind of picky about what I use on what kind of fry I guess. If they're the nice crispy fries, like from Cousin's Subs I always use mayo. On McDonalds fries I always use ketchup and on the curly fries I like to use that mayo/horseradish sauce. Sometimes I like to ue A-1 steak sauce or just plain sour cream too.

I have always loved french fries! Ketchup is what I have grown up using for a french fry dip. However, I found it very interesting when I moved to the town in which I now live, many of the people here dip their french fries in ranch dressing! I tried it and it was too strong for me. (plus I knew how much fat was in that ranch dressing!) I'll stick with ketchup!

I don't eat fries that much (I'm not a potato fan). But when I do, I usually use mayo. I used to use catsup, but then I went on vacation in the Netherlands and fell in love with mayo on my fries. Their mayonnaise (or frites sauce) has a much higher oil content and is hard to get here in Canada. Another thing I learned over there was to take your mayonnaise, mix it with curry catsup (another item that is hard to find here) and dip your fries in that. Delicious!

Absolutely !!! I used to like ketchup dip for my fries but I got bored. Now, I like to dip my fries with sweet sour, chilli, and barbecue sauce. My daughter loves to dip everything in her appel sauce/mashed, I've tried some and I like it too. But my husband loves mayo more.

My favorite thing to dip fries in is gravy. They are really good that way. Actually, I usually don't dip, I pour the gravy on top of the fries. If gravy isn't available then I will always use ketchup. I can't understand how people don't like ketchup...it is so yummy~especially Heinz

Actually, I have used tartar sauce and cocktail sauce too. I actually like a mixture of those two. I will do that if I am eating shrimp or fish but if it's just a burger or something I will only use ketchup.

I use ketchup, preferably tomato ketchup to dip my fries on. Sometimes when mayonnaise is available, I would mix ketchup and mayo together and they would form a sweet-tangy taste. Mustard is good for my burger.

I do, I do, I do! I love fries, and I love tartar sauce! Sometimes when it is not available, I use chili too or just eat it plain (READ: original) I have weird friend who loves mixing everything together. :P

I love lots of salt and lashings of vinegar on my fries. If I am in a restaurant and I am having fish and fries, then I will dip my fries in the tartar sauce which comes with the fish. Most fast food places don't serve vinegar, so I will settle for the tomatoe ketchup.

tartar sauce = YUCK! My family loves McChicken Sauce. Anytime we go to McDonalds we get packages of McChicken Sauce for our fries and Chciken Nuggets, sometimes for our burgers. Its sooooooo good! Anytime we have french fries they ask for the white sauce. They like ketchup to though.

Depends on what fries you got. McDonald's fries=ketchup. KFC fries=nothing. Fries from our local diner=mayo. FDNY fries=honey and mustard dip. I don't know if they're available in your area, but here in the Philippines we got powder flavoring that we sprinkle over our fries. The most popular ones are sour cream and onion and cheese.

Hi, all4ucnc. Yes, I have used tartar sauce on my french fries. Only when I ate at Captain D's. These are the only fries that I use tartar sauce on. I think the reason why I use tartar sauce on my french fries is because of the fish that is served alongside my french fries. Otherwise, I just use mayonnaise, ketchup or honey mustard onto my french fries.

I do not like tartar sauce, so the answer would be no. I also don't like mayo or mustard. I like to use ketchup for french fries, but I prefer to use sweet and sour sauce. I also like to use barbeque sauce sometimes, but s&s sauce is my favorite condiment.

I don't eat fries that often. When I do, if I'm at home, I use sour cream usually, or ranch dressing, or the two of them mixed together. If I'm out somewhere I use barbeque sauce, ranch, or as a last resort, ketchup. If it's McDonald's fries, I eat Sweet and Sour Sauce, but that's the only place I like it from.

I usually don't use anything. I have tried gyro sauce with french fries and I liked that. Sometimes I will use ketchup. My son dips his french fries in a milk shake. He loves them that way.

I love french fries too! Almost any kind, but i'm not crazy about the ones that have that seasoning coating. I'll still eat them though, better than no fries! I use ketchup and only ketchup. Lots of people I know use ranch and other random things. But I only like ketchup it's weird, but it's the only thing that tastes "right" to me!

I love to dip my french fries in tartar sauce. Funny I saw this because we just ate at the dairy bar a few hours ago and I dipped my fries in tartar sauce. I had a fish plate and french fries. If I do not have tartar sauce I usually will not use anything to dip them in. Every now and then if we go to McDonald's I will use barbeque sauce. I do not do it often but I will do it every now and then. But most of the time I just salt my fries and do not dip them because most places do not have tartar sauce. My kids love to dip their's in ketchup. My son is like me though if there is tartar avilable he will go for the tartar sauce to. Saturday on the way to New Mexico we stopped and ate at a KFC/Long John Silver's. And my cousins kids were eating and I noticed that one of the kids were out of tartar sauce so I refilled it and then was told that they had mayo to begin with. LOL But the child never noticed.

I always use ranch on my fries - I dislike ketchup and mustard. To me, tartar sauce is for fish, and mayo is for sandwiches. I guess that's just how I grew up. Haha! My nephew eats ketchup on everything; Eggs, steak, fries, etc. But me, I'm a fry-and-ranch girl.
