drawing on the walls  

ooohhhh ya I remember by children writing on things. I made one of my daughter scrub the wall for a bit, and she never did it agian. Another daughter got a hold of a big black marker at Grandma's house and colored the phone, the dishwasher and the cupboards black. My mom got it all off though, she used hairspray. It works!

I bought one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and when my son draws on the walls or floor or furniture, I make him clean it off. We went to a teacher supply store and bought a huge tablet of paper, the kind that hangs on the wall, and we put that up in one area of the dining room. He is allowed to draw on that tablet as much as he wants. when it runs out, we buy a new one. He stopped drawing on the walls and stuff once he had is own space to color in.

That is a tough one. You really can't get mad at her for following your example. When my children draw on the walls I make them clean it up with one of those Mr. Clean Magic erasers. They work great, by the way. If they continue to write on things I take the crayons away for a while. Could you provide her with a small box that she is allowed to write on? That might solve your problem and satisfy her need to do things like mommy.

You should have a discussion with your child about what she can and can not write on. When my daughter wrote on her wall, I gave her a sponge and the soap and had her wash it off. I explained to her that we write, draw and color only on paper or special coloring books. I didn't get mad, yell or anything. I was very calm and just explained that it took us along time to get her walls painted and she needed to not write on them.
Is there anyway if you clean off what your daughter wrote on your dresser that you can redo the thing you wrote on it. If not, she has just added a memory to her dresser:)

You should be lucky it was just her name. I find stuff that I can't even say here on the walls. I make them clean it up and they just do it again. They always blame the other one for doing it too. Like I taught my 6 year old to write anything that ryhmes with duck. :( They make chalk board paint and liquid metal. I hear if ya spray on the liquid metal first then paint tiwht chalk board paint that you can use magnets and chalk to play with. *I highly recomend using a piece of board to screw/hang on wall*

I make sure that I brought all washable crayons, watercolor, etc. She did write on the walls and I almost fainted with what she had done on her room. It was like a mural in there and she told me, she is painting our family. I was so upset but I told her we draw on paper not on the wall because it will make the house messy. For her coming bday, I will get her an easel because she likes to paint and color. The first time she had scribble on the wall, I explain it to her gently we don't do that. The second time, I reprimanded her and told her that if Mommy will spend the day scrubbing the wall, it will be less time for Mommy to spend time with her. The third time, I lost my cool and let her scrub the wall. I guess she saw how Mommy was so mad, she said she is sorry and I told her that saying sorry means listening too because this is the 3rd time and she still didn't listen. After that, she never colored or scribble on the walls again and I make sure that she doesn't run out of paper to draw on on her table.

My son thinks he's picasso or something. I have a horrible time keeping him from writing on things. I even spent a long time cleaning crayon off a hotel room door last month when he decided to colour it purple. He's only two, but because it used to happen so often that now he has to sit on a chair and tell me a couple of times that "Crayons are for paper!" It hasn't happened recently (in the last week) so maybe he's over that phase.

Hello! My daughter never did this but my son did. Crayons all over the wall! I explained why it was wrong. Then, I went to the store and bought chalk board paint. It paints onto dressers, doors, walls, etc. It goes on like any other type of paint. And it becomes a chalk board surface. I painted one entire wall of my son's room with this - top to bottom. Gave him a big set of chalks and explained how he can wipe it off. He never again colored on my walls.

i am also having same problem with my kids.they wrote on the walls and all the paint get spoiled but they won't stop doing so.

I do not have children yet, but i did work with children in the kindergarden and other systems.
i can tell you one thing, she does not think that she is doing anything wrong, even if you told her before that drawing on the walls is forbidden, she did not get it.
so you have to find a different way.
i think that you have to tell her that those walls are mom's and dad's, and she can draw only at her wall.
preper for her a special big block of paper, hang it.
and write on it her name, let her know that this is her 'wall', she will be happy that she has got a unique wall of her own, you will be happy that she dosn't draw on the house walls, and everything will be solved. try it. :)
