Once upon a time.....they ALL lived happily ever after!

Once Upon A Time there was a world filled with stories that all started with the same words. "Once upon a time...." they'd start out; "so and so or whooosimijigger did a thingamabob or whatchimacallit to the whatsit...."And, of course, after a long and winding tale, they all ended the same, too, with:
"...and they ALL lived happily ever after". There was never a sad ending; never a bad ending; just "happily ever after" endings.
And, I wonder.....what's wrong with that?

I wonder too. It sure isn't like that in reality. But, these were stories for children, when children could be children, in a different era, a happier one, a safer one. Now life is hard and scary. If the stories were true to form, we would be scared to grow up I guess.+++

You said it! I'm sure each generation has its own set of similar "regrets" that the "good ol' days" cannot be brought back. So, it becomes necessary for us to accept today as the NEW "good ol' days", I guess!
Thanks for the post. And, btw....I see you've been at myLot for some time! 15,115 posts! Wow! Just curious...does that mean it eventually becomes "worth it" ($) or does it mean you simply enjoy the forum and the other 'rewards' it can offer?
