Even facts "forgotten" by people during a busy day may be retrieved if this is followed by a good night's sleep.when the brain is first asked to remember something, that memory is laid down in an "unstable" state, meaning that it is possible that it could be lost.at some point, the brain consolidates those it deems important into a "stable",more permanent state.sleep consolidates memories, protecting them against subsequent interference or decay.if performance is reduced by decay, sleep might actively recover what has been lost.

Yes I agree with you that a good sleep incorporates the better memory in our life.Whenever I have headache I usually go to sleep early at night and the next morning the headache is totally gone.

Wow, great facts! Thanks for the information. If that is the case then i should sleep every alternated hours ;P.
Some facts of sleep from my side:
Deep, optimal sleep has been proven to provide countless benefits to daily life - including a strengthened immune system, increased memory and improved reaction time.
Simply put, there is just no substitute for the benefits of sleep.
The National Sleep Foundation estimates that the effects of lack of sleep cost more than $100 Billion a year in lost productivity. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, each year more than 100,000 traffic accidents are caused by the effects of lack of sleep on drivers. And many industrial accidents, from Three Mile Island to the Exxon Valdez, have been blamed at least in part on human error caused by a sleep deficit.
