Butter Chicken and the Indian Curry are one of the most delicious Indian food you can ever come across. Have you ever tried "Butter Chicken". It is one of my fav Indian food that I have ever tasted. I want to share an a Recipe of making Butter Chicken - the Traditional Indian way. You will fall in love with it:- Ingredients:- A) 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter. B) 1 onion. C) 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. D) 2 teaspoons of crushed garlic. E) 2 teaspoons of crushed ginger. F) 1/2 teaspoon of ground turmeric. G) 1 to 2 teaspoons of chilli powder. H) 1 tablespoon of coriander. I) 400 grams/ 14 oz of skinless, boneless chicken thighs or breasts. J) 1/4 to 1/2 cup ground almonds. K) 225 gram/ 8 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes with juice. L) 1 tablespoon of tomato paste. M) 1/2 cup of unsweetened yoghurt. Preparation:- With chicken there is always a risk of food poisoning,so it is important to clean your hands, board and knives before and after working with the raw meat.Trim and cut the chicken into small cubes, cover and put aside. With a clean knife and board slice the onions into thin wedges (lyonnaise). Heat a large saucepan or frying pan and melt 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter until it is frothy. Add the onions and the cinnamon to the pan and fry lightly. When the onions are soft stir in the crushed garlic and ginger. Then add the turmeric, chilli and coriander, and sauté over a medium heat. The spices are fried first to release their maximum flavour and this really enhances the dish. Add the cubed chicken and sauté stirring constantly until the chicken has turned white. Pour in the ground almonds, tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Add the yoghurt and heat through. Serve on rice with a salad and Indian bread if desired. The above preparation would 4 - 6 people. I would suggest you not to have "Butter Chicken" if you have "Chollestrol" or "Heart Related Problems". Enjoy your Cooking at Mylot.......:)

I love Butter Chicken, I always order it when I go to an Indian restaurant. I can't take spicy food very well (sadly enough), so Butter Chicken is perfect for me. I especially love the way all the spices blend together. Thank you very much for the recipe though! We can't always afford to go to a restaurant, so now I can try and make the dish at home. It doesn't seem that difficult to me!

I absolutely love butter chicken. Whenever I go near an Indian restaurant and smell it cooking it's mighty hard to keep on walking without stopping in to buy some. I make it home quite often but have only ever used the jars of sauce, I've never made it from scratch. Your recipe looks delicious though. Thanks for sharing! :D

Hi, You asked "have you tried butter chicken" the answer from me is, Yes I have tried butter chicken only through my sister going on about how butter chicken is so nice and all. So to stop her from going on about it, We went out for dinner, to an Indian restaurant, which my sis chose.I tried it. My thoughts on it, I didnt really like it, I have nothing against Indian foods, actually I have a liking for curry dishes too, But butter chicken I couldnt take too. It does look nice though.

Although I prefer mutton over chicken, but given a choice between mutton and butter chicken, I would go with butter chicken anyday.

I have tried butter chicken, it is really nice. It is one of my daughter's favourite dishes, and she has just about to move into her own place, so i am going to send her a copy of this, as it sounds yummy. She usually goes and buys it, but she is a good cook, so she will probably try it. Thanks

It seems to be very good. I'm used to make curry and I like it a lot, but I didn't know that indian recipe. I'll try it. It seems to me very easy to do, I just don't have some ingridients that I have to buy. In former portugues colony, mozambique, where there were a lot of indian people that came from the Portuguese Indian colonies when Nehru conquered it. They used to do a crab curry that's just divine! Have you ever tried it? Here is the recipe I found: www.indianfoodforever.com/goan/crab-curry.html
