What's Your Favourite Queen Single or Album? |
|
I loved Queen and Freddie Mercury had a voice that was unique. Nobody will ever replace him in the group.
My little son liked them too... his favourite was A Kind of Magic. I think mine are Under Pressure, Radio Ga Ga, and We Are The Champions. I like all of them really but I guess these rate higher in my book than most.
So, do you have a favourite single, or do you prefer to name an album? Also, what do you think of the tribute groups who are around these days. Are any of them anywhere near Freddie Mercury's talent?

1. emeraldisle (8978) | 3 years ago | I love Queen and their music. My favorite has to be though the music from "Highlander" one and two. They did a fantastic job with the songs for that. "It's A Kind of Magic", "Who wants to live forever," and "Princes of The Universe" are some of my favorite songs. I also liked the music from "Flash Gordon" that they did. Yeah they did that one too. I like some of their other songs as well but those are my favorite.

| Leedsrbest1973 (83) | 3 years ago | Yes, I like Flash Gordon as well. I have lots of their songs. I was given a boxed set of theirs once.
Thank you for your response.

2. oldiebut (659) | 3 years ago | I am a huge fan as well. I saw them in concert in 1975 and was blown away by the quality of the music. I don't think we've seen anyone approach Mercury's talent recently, or soon will.
My favorite songs...
Somebody to Love Radio Gaga The Show Must Go On I Want It All Princes of the Universe Don't Stop Me Now
But I don't think there's a "bad" Queen song, like them all.
| |
| |
|
|
| Leedsrbest1973 (83) | 3 years ago | I agree with you here, Oldiebut. There is not a bad song amongst those that Queen recorded, and there will never be anybody to touch Freddie Mercury's vocal talent. Good choice of songs too.
Thank you for your response.

4. ExoticSarah (792) | 3 years ago | I absolutely love Queen. I believe they are one of the most diverse, universal bands in the history of music. Freddie was not just an amazing singer and showman, he was an artist who took music seriously and appreciated it for what it truly is.
Some of my favorite songs include: The Show Must Go On, Who Wants To Live Forever, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want To Break Free, Barcelona, Somebody To Love, Save Me, Love Kills, Under Pressure, and more.
Not only did Queen create music, they created an artform so unique that it is legendary. Queen is incomplete without Freddie, therefore; I do not believe anyone can touch his talent.
| |
| |
|
|
| Leedsrbest1973 (83) | 3 years ago | I would tend to agree with you. Now Freddie is no longer with Queen, they don't hold up in the same way.
You certainly are a big fan and I would like to thank you for your response.

| 5. stravagante (31) | 3 years ago | I just adore Queen and Freddie! I heard he had voice of 4 octaves! Amazing! My favourite songs are Too Much Love Will Kill You, Bohemian Rhapsody and One Year Of Love! And favourite albums are Made In Heaven (I thing Freddie did the best singing in this album) and A Kind Of Magic! I never heard any of tribute bands, I don't think I'll like them, because noone can replace or be like Freddie Mercury! Only a bad copy!
| |
| |
|
|
| Leedsrbest1973 (83) | 3 years ago | Thank you for your response stravagante and please accept my apologies for not coming back earlier, but things have been a bit hectic around my neck of the woods.
I've seen two tribute bands. They were neither of them too bad but neither of the lead singers could touch Freddie's voice. They tend to shout, rather than sing.

| 6. auntyann (15) | 3 years ago | Favourite album 'Night at the Opera', favourite songs - Love of My Life, We Will Rock You, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Kind of Magic. I've only heard one tribute band, they played on our local park, and they were rubbish - can't remember thier names, thankfully! I think Freddie Mercury will never 'die' because he lives on through his music.
| |
| |
|
|
| Leedsrbest1973 (83) | 3 years ago | I like under pressure too auntyann, and my son's favourite was A Kind of Magic.
I agree with your last statement. Freddie was one of the all-time greats but without him, Queen will never hold up. Thank you for your response.
