I go to other people's houses and they have nice and trim cats. Here I have 3 cats and they are all FAT as can be. Ranging from 15-20 lbs. Here is a picture of Sliver who is 20 lbs. I don't even know how she can breath when she is laying flat on her back. It's the cutest picture though. I have 1 male cat who has had urinary track problems so he has to have that food. He is 18 lbs. I mix all the food together but there is urinary, senior and diet food. How come they aren't losing weight?? LOL They have a bowl of food that gets refilled once a day. Sometimes twice. The vet recommended feeding them seperatly but I can't. They all want each other's food. Plus, they all eat at different times of the day so it's hard to set feeding times. Anyone have 2 or more cats that are overweight and/or need to different foods and have to feed them apart? This is driving me nuts. It's funny though. I went to take my dog into the vet yesterday. They asked if my cats were losing weight- told them no and I basically got the riot act from them. I come out of the room and here is their "office" cat who weighs 22 lbs. If that isn't calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. Any suggestions from cat owners?

Mine are fat, too! 25 and 16lbs. I have tried just about everything to help them lose weight, but no luck!

I only have one very heavy cat, he is very active also, but he is huge, he has been neutered, and our vet says that is why he does'nt loose the weight, he eats when he wants just like the other three, and they are all trim, it very well could be the cats metabolisim, or a thyroid problem , they can have alot of the same conditions that people have, one of my females is a dwarf and has hyperthyroidisim, and she has to take a pill every day to slow it down, this way she maintains a healthy weight, the opposite of this condition hypothyriodisim can caus the thyriod not to work properly and the animal will gain weight and not loose, the same thing in people.

Ah ha.. Yeah, Maybe I need to get my cats tested for that. I don't know if they do that once a year when I take them in or not. They always get blood work. I would assume if there was a problem that they would tell me. Who knows. I know that giving them cat treats DON'T help. LOL They are so spoiled. Thanks for chimming in!

I don't have any cats however my aunt's cat is so fat it actually waddles when it walks. The vet suggested a diet change and encourage excercise, she started walking this cat just like you would a dog and beleive it or not he lost weight. Good Luck.

Wow, walking a cat. Never would have thought about that. Thanks. Maybe I need to go get some collars and leashes. I bet they would love being outside walking. LOL :)
