i know a guy that had a dog that he loved alot. the dog was like his baby. the dog past away and he had him stuffed. he keeps him in the living room on his doggie bed. to me this is just going alittle far. it is strange. maybe i am the one that is strange i dont know. i was wondering if you think this is heathly for my friend. also if you think it is just going alittle to far. i mean we have deer antlers and such in our house but when my pet dies i get very upset and i miss them and i do funerals for them in the back yard. i just dont think i could ever stuff one and keep it in the house like it is still living.

I myself would not do it as it would always be a reminder to me of something very precious and dear to me that I lost, but for some people it is soothing. I feel that whatever your friend thinks is best for him, is probably ok. Unless he starts to sleep with the stuffed dog, he will probably be ok.

If i ever had my dog stuffed, for whatever reason, i think it would be so he could be buried with me when i pass away, so we'd always be together. Having a dog stuffed is 1 thing, my Mother in Law got very attached to a ferret she had - Shrek - so she went & had him stuffed, i don't like ferrets at the best of times but this will be just eew for me! I guess if it helps with the grieving then why not :) Some people feel they can be closer with their pets once they're gone by having them stuffed. I've always been a bury in the backyard person as well but i guess that's not for everyone.
