I know the man I gave my heart to now will be a good guardian of it and will look after its hidden treasures. I really hope so any way. I hope I can be a blossoming rose though with a beautiful perfume to make my lovely other rose drunk. I think like you say I am becoming a mixture of both but I don't think I can ever become sober in love I mean even if I don't drink alcohol

Inorder for one to love, one must love oneself first. For how could one really know how to love when it doesn't even know how to love itself first? If the SELF that you offer to the one that you love is an unloved self, then you don't really love that person or someone because you are giving him/her less of your self. What the butterfly felt maybe is more of an obssession which is destructive in nature and the rose is not also not really in love for it is conditional. Yes, I agree with you that one should set boundaries as far as sacrifices is concerned.

I have seen a lot of either type in different people (especially among my friends). I have one friend who sacrificed everything for another friend of mine who obviously didn't really appreciate everything that he had done for her. I advised him to give her up (I also told her to stop using him), but he wouldn't, until the time that he had his heart broken for the final time when she married someone else. Later on, this girl (who's not my friend anymore because of what she had done to my other friend) got heartbroken with the guy she married, and she wanted my friend back. By that time, it was too late. He already entered priesthood.

I had a friend before who wasn't able to separate from her boyfriend, because he said he would commit suicide for her. Jeez! But in the end, he didn't fo it.
