humankind as conqueror or humankind as steward???  

I don't think that we are the stewards' of the Earth because we seem to be polluting it more each and every day .Resources are being sucked away as the population grows .I believe we need to keep are politicians feet to the fire with regard to these topics
because right now were not helping future generations.

Oh we are definitely conquerors. And that is all we are we have not given back, a single thing to mother earth's benefit. I will go so far as to say from conquerors to destroyers!

I think the environment issue is getting too hysterical.. we humans are part, not separate from this world.

The earth is 15 billion years old..! there were dinosaurs roaming the planet 65 million years ago...no humans anywhere. Be happy you exist while you can.

Do you think we have a choice in saving or controlling nature? no way, mother earth will be here long,long, after humans are gone.
Of course we should treat the planet with respect. but to think that we should not use water, eat animals, deny ourselves things we need to exist is unrealistic... walking in the forest, driving a car, planting food etc are things we can enjoy and not feel guilt over.

Each one of us is here for a short time, we should love, teach our children good things, be respectful to the earth and be blessed for existing.

Us humans are intelligent enough to overcome obstacles, of course the world has changed due to humans, but the media is scaring the public too much, and politicans are using this to gain taxes and control how you live.

In the past nature was hazardous for humans in many ways. We humans had nothing but brains to figure a way to survive. We dont have dangerous teeth, we cannot run faster than most animals, we are not agile in trees or in water, we need protection from rain and snow, we need clothes, we need to raise a child for many years. Our bodies cannot store food for long. But our BRAINS have given us an ability to protect ourselves from the laws of nature.

we cannot disregard these facts that we humans seem to have forgotten... peace!

We are definitely NOT stewards.. that would mean we are trying to look after her and we ARE NOT doing that... all we have are people interested in trying to do that and scientists trying to tell us to stop doing certain things and we can stop the planet from dying.. hmm. that makes it sound like an awful lot of people are conquerors.. the destroyers of this planet.

God created man to rule over all His other creations and for this we are conquerors. But we are just creation of God and therefore we are just the stewards of God to take care of the earth.
