When our granddaughter Kristin was in kindergarten, we gave her a very pretty little white rabbit fur jacket.
Dale picked her up from school one winter afternoon and she didn't have the jacket on.
He asked her why she wasn't...

The other day I was telling someone about the bunnies I used to see running around the field across from my house in a park.
I have never seen any rabbits where I live now. Last night night I looked out the windows at dusk. I...

I love forests. I love to walk in the forests. There are different sounds of birds and insects which brings us close to nature. I can see woodpeckers, rabbits, cricket, nightingales which i hardly see in the urbanized places.

K and I are watching an episode of Nature on PBS. This episode is about rabbits and hares. There are many more differences between the two than I ever imagined.
Sophie is watching the show with great interest. She growls and...

There are baby rabbits at our house-sit and, until yesterday, I thought there were five. But now we’ve discovered there are six! And I have the photo to prove it. We were watching them bouncing around on the lawn and diving under...

There are five baby rabbits at our house-sit but it’s hard to get a photo of them all at once. There is one daisy bush they enjoy nibbling on. They mostly stand up to reach the bit they want but this morning one of them jumped...

A week or two ago my younger daughter inquired as to whether rabbits are nighttime or in the technical words, nocturnal, and I was totally shocked that she had a confused idea about the response. My family has had bunnies for more...

Momma Chi, the only female bunny we had died this morning.
She gave birth again yesterday morning, unfortunately the kits did not made it all.
Out of all three pregnancies (which I did not know of until...

Many have asked if the baby rabbits in the yard are wild. Yes they are. I have had to watch from a distance. Makes it hard, but nature has to take its course.
Walked out to check on the babies yesterday. The nest was empty! I...

Snapped a photo yesterday of the five (I think there are five in the nest) rabbit babies in the backyard nest.
You can see from the photo, the nest material is gone. They are growing every day. And look like little stuffed...

Thank you to those who commented on my post yesterday titled "Can You Guess What I Found in the Yard". I knew some would get the answer correct.
Baby bunnies (called Kits) are nesting in my yard. I am so very excited. Never in...

I expect most of you recognise these cute little figurines that are known as PenDelfins. Several years ago I started up a collection of these cute little rabbits and I brought many of them from charity shops and car boot sales. I...

I heard today that there is a breed of rabbit that can’t hop but which, if it tries to hop too fast, ends up walking on its front legs with its hind legs sticking up in the air.
Mutations in the gene of the ‘sauteur d’Alfort’...

About a week ago, we planted five peppermint trees. It seems peppermint trees are only found in south-west Western Australia and most myLotters had never heard of them. They are a shady tree with bark somewhat like a paperbark....

At the moment, we’re a bit obsessive about this ‘saving ourselves’ should a bushfire come our way. The next project will be to remove the tyres you can see in the photo as, if they caught alight, the shed would probably catch fire...
