Alex Grey self claimed shaman/artist, ever seen his art work? How about Gaia?

I first seen his artwork on youtube and my sister gave me a DVD that had an interview he did. The oddest one seems to be his Gaia painting done in the early 90's it shows a world tree and one side of it is on fire and burning....

im a huge fan of these genres of paintings, drawings, well pretty much art in general. Alex Grey is in my opinion the best out there today. can anyone recomend some other artists. if you dont know anyone from this genre i enjoy...
